On to the Motorcycles.
I suppose you can call it a collection, but I see it as just “My Bikes” These machines are my babies.
I take a tremendous amount of pride in them. I describe them as a group of motorcycles any of which you wouldn’t want as your only Bike.
Allan, a Starvmax member from Melbourne Fl was talking to me at the Star mid Atlantic BBQ and he too has a “few” motorcycles .He felt the same way about his collection. Allan is a very articulate thinker and conversationalist and I just loved his Description of such a collection. “My garage is like a Swiss Army knife no matter what I need there’s something in there for me…” That, Allan, is a great analogy .If you don’t mind I might start using that..

Yeah, I too was among those deeply troubled youths, that found solice on the rear wheel of an RD350, 1 maroon, 1 orange. Sick sudden speed on Yamaha's newly invented unicycle

The maroon one took one of my best friends tho..

The rd was yamaha's first legend, at least in my generation. 2 foot pounds of torque up to about 5000 and then hang on lol

You have a good eye VVmax and good taste..I really like you’re crossed up vintage Yami flat track photo on your ID. I'm all about flat trackers. Built myself a XR replica "Street Tracker" to zip around on. Can get some of those pics up too if someone wants.
The Fazer is a 1986 Fzx 700 had it since 1990 and completely restored it to my standards. Hope you enjoy. Thanks again .Think I’ll ride the Fazer this morning since I got it out for the pics ..Need to visit Cycle Gear {bar end mirrors for the Bonneville}
And Then Northern Tool Supply Came across a tool I don't have for Tamper resistant Torx hardware. New Triumph Tank Badges have them.

WOW what a collection!
It's been a very long time since I've seen a Fazer, especially one that pristine.
Wasn't that one of the first if not the very first street bike to have a 5 valve head?

Thanks Kev,
You are correct it was one of the first. It was the first Standard or as they say now "naked" bikes to utilize a 5 valve per cylinder head back in 1986. But the absolute first was the 1985 FZ750 "Pure sports" which was a fully faired early Sport Bike. Yamaha called this 20 valve Hemi head engine the Genesis. It is an ingenious simple engine design concept dreamed up and brought to production by the Yamaha engineers. Notice how laid over the row of cylinders are, this was so this new head could utilize downdraft carburetors. This engine is all about low rotating mass high rpm and induction/exhaust flow. The main reason for the 5 valve arrangement was to reduce valve mass and thus increase the rev range of the engine which is usually limited by when the valves begin to float. The valves are tiny, a little bit bigger than dime size, there’s 3 intake and 2 exhaust. This mid 80's design has stood the test of time and is still being produced.
