Hi Che, just wondering what sort of $ you are looking at all up to purchase the bikes and land here in Oz? Do you have any idea on costs to have an engineers certificate done? Thanks.

Well my partner is the engineer so it will be marginal cost only... Yamaha Australia will hold the complance rights to the new V max and they aren't about to sell it to anyone else so I will have to do a private import on my max if i choose to register it.....$22,000AUD landed.

Your right. Go ahead and sign my name to any petitions trying to get your prices lowered. You had me with the Sly movies, but made me actually feel bad when you pointed out the knight rider clown.

Sydney Saturday Telegraph has an add and the web site for the V Max in the motorcycle section saying only 150 coming to Australia. I guess the $31,000 on road price tag is a controversial matter over the dinner table these days...I think that must include New Zealand too as they have the same importer.
Re:Will the new Vmax come to Australia 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey Che,
Yes your right, the 150 bikes were being split between NZ and here.. When I signed on Wednesday, I received a phone call from Yamaha Australia the next day veryifying my details and I asked if many had been sold, she said there where approx a dozen or so, so far (that was thursday)..

Here is some info about the dealer price for the U.S. boys.
Dealer Invoice Report
2009
List Price: $17990
Dealer Invoice: $15184
Dealer invoice price includes $252 freight charge for shipping from the manufacturer to the dealership.
Assembly Cost: $50 per Yamaha pricesheet
Each dealership has its own method of figuring actual cost of assembly and preparation for sale.
There is no reimbursement by the factory for this cost to the dealer.
Ready to sell cost: $15234
This model Yamaha has 3% (of list price) dealer holdback.
Luckily, we here in Australia get to pay $32000AUD.
I know it's too late now but I wonder what would have happened to the price if NOBODY had bought one.
