Two weeks and one day ago I went and put my $2000 deposit on the 09  , one week later I had an order confirmation phone call from the Sydney Yamaha Importers, and had no further info since.
When I placed my order I was told it would be late February for the delivery date and there was only a few left to order in Australia.
I was the third person to order a  from the North West Tasmanian bike shop (not Naming which one) and was wondering in what states and amounts the other 149 have been ordered from.
Hope we can all get together on a big weekend sometime and share some wicked  stories and memories.

February? Don't be surprise if your delivery date gets extended.
Yami has been doing the nasty lately.
Raising the price of  accessories, delaying shipment of the bike, and etc.

Yeah Thanks DarthVMax, I know the wait for the past two years or so since the concept design has been agony and i was in love since i saw the STARVMAX, the last thing we all want is to wait longer.
Come on Yamaha we want Results not Excuses.
I thought the slow boat was from China not Japan.

Sounds like all the US bikes will start shipping within the next 2 weeks. It seems that Yamaha had a quality issue with a particular part and they replaced them on all bikes.

We should be all good soon!

Thanks for the update on Yamahas part problem Fxstein, lets just hope they have them all ready to deliver very soon.

Gday Pokeynose congrats on the 

I live in southeast Queensland and put my deposit down on the 8 october,my dealer has sold 3 also,my mate mickgb,me and the dealer sold his tricked up MT01 to get his hands on one.

Also had the phone call saying I missed the first ship and will be on the second one in January now Feb i think

And as for an Aussie get together here is a pic of one I just organised for our Suzuki M019R group, 35 in this pic but had 45 all up for the weekend

Looks like you had a good weekend get together,  racing.
My local Motorcycle dealer tried to get me interested in the new 08 model MT01 when i asked about the Star  6 months ago, but i told him i was only interested in any info he could give me on the MAX. Turns out that i was more up to date than he was thanks to this site.
I will be gettin on the boat and heading over to the Mainland after the second service is done on my new  for a few weeks of touring.
Have not been to Queensland since i was 14yrs old, and i bet it will look different from the seat of the MAX, especially after all those years ago. (becoming an old fart now).
Congrats on ordering the new MAX and Good luck with getting it early.

I got that same phone call and was told the max should be here in January as well in Sydney.

Well looks like you guys and gals down under will be getting your max`s before the end of Nov 11/25/08 . Just got a letter from my friend down under and they will have there bikes before the end of the month.
