Palm Springs Bike Week Pictures 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi All, I just got home from spending the afternoon at the annual Palm Springs Bike Week Bike Show. Its pretty much an all Harley event (heavy cringe). I went just for something to do. There were hundreds of bikes. Out of all of them I saw 2 That I thought you might like to see. One is an antique Moto Guzi Stake Side Dump Truck in absolute pristine condition. The other one is a Boss Hog sporting the big block Chevy 502 engine. Big Deal, We have seen these before... This one has a freaking NOS system on it. I guess a big block CAR V8 in a motorcycle wasnt powerful enough for them.

I have lots and lots of pics. But they are all of Hardly Ablesons and Ducatis. It would seem that I have developed an uncontrollable lust for Ducatis ever since I saw that picture G-tip posted of that guy throwing one sideways and throwing a thumbs up at the same time. And then today when I was looking at them in person my lust became even more overpowering. They are sooooo beautiful and advanced I cant believe it. There was also the random few other bikes I shot pictures of too. Here is one of a bike that a company just came out with. Its called Urel. This model is a replica of an old military bike with a side car. But its brand new. They had a catalog with some of their other models too. All replicas of old bikes of all different eras and styles. But they have all the modern technology. They are not trying to fool people into thinking they are old bikes at all. They are just for people that like the look of the old stuff. Pretty cool actually in person. And yes it was a very nice day. Like I said, those bikes are not my cup of tea. But it was something to do. I had fun.

I don't think power is the issue here, more the look-and-see factor!

But it's an absolute stunner, that's for sure.
Thanks for the pictures.

And your 'lust' for Ducatis is not uncommon. Lots of folks moon over Italian design. I don't know how they do it, but the love for the elegant, the savoir vivre of the Italians, all that you see in their design. Amazing.

I just found a link to the company that makes those replica retro bikes with sidecars if anyone would like to check them out.

P.S. Im sure your right about the NOS on the Boss Hog being for the "look" factor Babe. The whole bike is pretty much for "looks". And I bet whoever paid for it would treat it like it is... Toooo expensive to hammer. (But I sure as heck would hammer it!) And about the Ducatis, Whatever those Italians are doing in that factory they are doing it right.

SD, Got another pic of the GI bike? Have any info/ history on it? I could use the dump bike right now to haul off some old roofing.

I went to the Air Tram this past summer and stayed at the strip in Palm springs..WHEW!...MAN, IT WAS HOT THERE!

I cannot and will never live in a climate like that..LOL..it's like living in an oven, I awoke about three in the morning and went outside thinking it has cooled down...WRONG..LOL....
