Thats great! Reading that made me feel like I was on vacation. I live here in the Black Hills of South Dakota with Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, and Sturgis. This summer I'll try to post one of my rides so everyone can see what we have to offer. If anyones coming to Sturgis this year drop me a line!
Oh please do and post some pictures so I know how it looks like. I've never been to the USA and love to see it while not being sure if I will ever get there...

If you want to see some more pictures of Schokland here's the URL of their site:
http://www.schokland.nl/
If you want to make a trip to the Dutch past, here's a URL of similar surroundings:
http://www.zaanseschans.nl/ This website has an English section. The buildings are very similar, but much more prosperous, because Amsterdam is very near this region and the people in the old days could trade more. This part of Holland is very popular among tourists, because it's an authentic historic village. With shops, mills, houses, etc.
If you like the famous wind mills of Holland, very near my home is the Kinderdijk with dozens of wind mills very close together. Check this out:

wow that looks so great, but from what I hear Holland is very flat and there are a whole lot of mountains, is that right?
We had a great week-end ride as well trough the Australian snowy Mountains with lots of twistiest and pegs scrapping but not like you, we did not take any pics. of the palaces that we went trough or the ride, which is a real shame... oh well next time.
Cheers,
Marius
P.S. I put the Vstrom for sale this AM to help pay for the MAX, any takers?

The Netherlands are very flat, because most of the land was created by the sea or by drying it out. Only in Limburg, the most southern province we see some hills, but compared to Austria these are just minor bumps in the earth, haha!
I'd love to ride in the mountains any day of the year, but alas: no time, no money.
Tejo made all the photographs on this trip! Thanks to him we can all see.
