Cruzin who TF knew? I gave a way a 67 Camaro SS 396 4 speed tick/tock/tach rag top for $1500 to buy a 79 T/A! At least the T/A was cooler than that Rustang you picked up over the Dodge! I think a 83 put out like 175hp! Aaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Pretty close on the HP there Spidi....and You do have the last laugh, as long as your bird had the 403 and not the 301,
then you would be in real trouble trying to get that battleship moving

I'll be trying to figure out how to repair my ZX9R.
So far I got the carbs rebuilt, now I'm waiting for the sparkplug socket that i ordered from the dealership. I couldn't find a 16mm thinwall socket anywhere.

Cruzin I actually had 2 79's. One was nocturne blue with gold eagle ,lettering /buckskin vinyl and the other was white blue eagle/light blue velour. Both 4 speeds and 301's rated at 150 hp! Both NO T-TOPS. Bones but they were good cruisers! Back in those days the Vettes of that era were lucky to put out 200 hp!

Spider wrote: Nice friggin ride Nunzi! My buddy had a jacked up air shocked shackel, Craigars, 69 4 speed with a 440 in it about 27 years ago. It an originaly 383 car. I dig those old Keystone Classics. You don't see to many sets of those around any more. Give us dirt on the Road Runner! Miles, story etc. etc.
It's a 2-door coupe, (post), color is 'platinum' according to the sticker. She has a 383 Coyote Duster package under the hood backed by a Hemi Torqueflite, with a 3.91 Sure Grip getting it all to the tarmac. Shows 74k original miles on the clock.
The interior and running gear is 100% original, and the exterior about 95%, (had the left rear 1/4 freshened up after I dropped my Yammie TT500C on it a couple decades ago. All in all, a bitchin' ride by my standard. She'll still smoke 'em thru second and leave several feet of tracks going into 3rd.
Not many amenities, to speak of, just the power steering & brakes. Sound system is a straight AM thumb wheel backed by a pair of 6x9's. Bench seats front & rear with carpet on the deck.
A friend of mine owned the local Chrysler dealership in '68 and he invited me to order a car for the floor. At the time I was driving a 'Sport Fury with a 426 Max Wedge. (came to find out a couple years ago there were only 13 built in this particular configuration). Anyway, his only directive was "don't get radical". I ordered it as though I was going to actually buy it for myself and my new bride, (still got her TOO!). We couldn't afford a new ride at the time. Anyway, long story short, it came in and I took it for a ride. Bye bye Sport Fury, hello Roadrunner.
We campaigned her at two strips in Utah a couple times a month and did very well. She was also our daily driver. We used to have to drive it over 120 miles one way to race on Saturday night. Get to the strip, let her cool down, change the plugs and fill the cool can. Then tear it up. When our daughter came along in '71 we gave up racing the 'Runner to become "responsible" parents.
We bought a '67 Dart GT a couple years later and played with it a bit, but decided to keep the '69 Runner. Glad we did!

You should grab an original tool kit off ebay for it. Problem solved!
That funky Metal tube is your spark plug socket

So do I...the smartest thing you did was keep the RoadRunner (and your wife)...that dart gt was a runner too.
I bled Mopar in my younger days, also had a 66 & 69 Charger both with a 383, a 72 Duster with a 340 4 speed (to bracket race), and a 72 Challenger before that '70.
Yes Spidi I know I should have kept the convertable....just like I know I should get the '09 Max.
