Just watched the show Super Bikes, where they were testing the new Busa. Suzuki had 30 bikes to demo with 10 people tending to the bikes making sure everything was just so. 27 riders took 27 bikes out for demo. Suzuki had 3 parts to the demo, the street, dragstrip, & closed circuit race track. Needless to say the bikes got rung out pretty hard. The 27 riders turned in times between 10.3 & 10.7 in the quarter mile. Suzuki sent one of their pro riders to show them how its done (small Japanese guy) and managed to turn a 10.11 w/different rubber. From there they took the bike to the track and the host for Super Bikes was allowed to ride a few laps. his comments were that it took a few laps to get confidence up, but then when he did start ringing it out (190mph)on the straights, he complained about underbreaking, and the bikes didnt look like they handled all that well either. Still in the end everyone exclaimed what a fast bike it is. Too bad you have to laydown everywhere you go tho..
I think the
stacks up pretty well against what I saw tonight. My tshirt design says it best
"If you can read this, you must be on a
too"
Thx for sharing! Can't wait to see a couple more top riders like Jay and Kevin wring out the
at the quarter-mile. I fully expect to see sub 10s runs once a couple guys get at it with the proper setup adjustments.
Anyway I'm interested what this beast'll be like in the mountains. How fast you can go up the passes and how well the compression'll help a rider going down smoothly, that is without too much brakes.
