VMAX DEMO RIDES IN FAYETTEVILLE, AR TODAY AND SAT! 2 Months, 1 Week ago
I was able to see the beast last night, however, Star had already left and I was only able to touch and take pics. I felt like I was at a gentlemen's club and couldn't have the fun I was hoping to have! J/K.
Star will be back today and tomorrow. You can sit on the bikes and they even have two Vmaxs there that you can demo ride. I'm sure they're not going to let you get on it and do a burn out, but at least you could get a feel for her.
Just an FYI for everyone! Here's the link once again:
I may ride down on my wife's M50 on Saturday just so I can ride the new MAX. I'm trying to decide if I want to do that or just savor that moment for when my MAX arrives in Feb. What to do???!!!

I would love to head to Daytona in 2 weeks and try and get in on the demo rides they are supposed to be offering there. I just know it will be packed (biketoberfest) and I'm sure not many will get the opportunity.
Oliver, any way I can get an insider to make a call and they be expecting me? (hey, it was worth a shot)

I went down on Thursday night and just missed the demo rides. They had already left for the evening. I went down again on Saturday (drove my wife's Suzuki M50 from KC, 4 hrs one way). I got there around noon or so and the demo rides were already full. I begged the Star rep to some how fit me in for one demo ride. The best they could do was to put me on stand-by. I waited around for another two hours on stand-by just in case someone didn't show up to demo the Max. Unfortunately, everyone showed up, so I wasn't able to do the demo ride.
I guess I should have gotten there much earlier and that's my fault. I thought, though, that Star would make an exception for someone who's actually purchasing one of their bikes? No such luck!
I was able to take some pics and sit on it though. It fits me like a glove with a super comfortable, high-quality seat and perfect seating position! I was excited about that.
I guess I'll just have to wait until I get my own to do the demo ride. Star didn't care if you already had a deposit down, it was first come, first serve. Most of the guys that were there riding the V-MAXs had no intention of buying either. I asked two or three of them and they said they were just riding it for fun and they weren't planning on buying one. I was a little disappointed that Star didn't allow us serious buyers priority, but I guess the object is to get other riders to buy the bike as well. Since we're already locked in, I guess they really don't need us to ride it.
Also, most of the Star reps. didn't even know half as much as me about the bike. One of the reps there was somewhat knowledgeable, but that was about it. I was thoroughly disappointed about the answers to my questions I was receiving. I stopped about a quarter way through because I could tell I already knew more about mostly everything I was asking about. One of the reps. did say that the orders taken were about 3/4 the way full. I don't know how true that is, but I guess we'll find out soon?
All in all, the Star reps didn't impress me very much, but the
is most definitely a beautiful machine that is no disappointment. I look forward to finally getting my chance to ride it. I know everyone that ordered one will be ecstatic about the bike!
