Re:09 VMAX Book and Letter from Yamaha/Star 1 Month ago
Just got mine, moments ago, in the mail. The letter is dated 11/7. The book is awesome, I plan to read it tonight, while consuming a quantity of Jager contained in the glass they sent me a couple years ago.
I'm hoping the receipt of the book & letter is a sign of impending delivery. But now I'm going to suit up and take the little woman out for a bit of boost. I think she loves that bike as much as I do.

Now I know for a fact that the US Post Office is run by a bunch of KNOBS, but I can't quite understand Yamahas whole delivery process with pre-bike material as well as the bike itself. How is it that someone like me who was told he had to put $2000 down as an initial deposit with a number 261919 has not seen boo and a guy with 263524 (no offense Max) already got his book and letter? I can think of 1000 reasons why this should not have happened. Yamaha should pick up a book on customer service because they have dropped the ball here!

You should also add that your dealer is willing to swap an earlier order with yours. Its the swapping thing that gets folks concerned because they believe that your higher claim number somehow got preference. In reality the dealer was very quick to order a bike on his very own name - propably the very first day - and is now trading that spot with your original but later order. This makes claim numbers somewhat irrelevant as we cannot possible track the claim numbers any such dealers did get for the early orders.

I wouldn't get too upset. It is just a paperback picture book. I glanced at mine for a couple minutes at the most and put it on the shelf. The reviews and pictures we have seen on this site make the book sort of no big news, imo. Personally I would rather they had saved the money and sent me a coupon for accessories or something.

Now that would fall under the realm of customer service. Even a thank you letter for the initial $1000 deposit would have been nice and I probably wouldn't be so edgy. I mean at the most they would have had to send out 2500 letters right, big deal. I could run off 2500 copies of a letter in less than an hour on my printer. A little goes a long way so they say! I just hope my said Dec delivery comes to be, cause now it's Dec and I feel I should have a set date and I don't. Bitter old man am I

My name is Kevin and I am from Watertown Wisconsin with a claim number of 261819. My dealer told me that mine will be delivered in December sometime. I recieved my book and letter today 12/01/2008 in the mail. I am getting really excited now. I just got my new sled last week, but the
has been a long time coming. I will not be able to ride it becasue the weather is really nasty here, but atleast I have a sled to ride that has enought power to get me through till spring.
