Im new here, but have been lurking for a month or so in anticipation for the new bike. I got mine a few hours after release on 6/4 and my claim number is 261334. When I called my dealership this monring to ask him what my number was, he told me that he was about to order another max and that he would let me know what his number was. It was 261600 and that was for a purchase that was on 6/7. It would seem that the last 3 digits are the number sequence, but we will know more if after 999 if the first 3 numbers change to 262 or sometheing.

Cool, it looks like we are all in the first 500. If they deliver at a steady rate and even take 5 months to get them all out, we can hope for November delivery.

I just went back to the dealer to get my Delivery Claim Form. Originally, they didn't give me one. Reading these forums made me nervous, so I went back and got it.
I deposited my check around noon on June 5th. My claim number is 261429. Not sure if the numbers are sequential or not.

Attention everyone!!! Do not leave the dealership without your DELIVERY CLAIM FORM!!! I was told for the last 2 days that my
was ordered and it wasn't. Seems Yamaha wanting to keep everything so secret failed to inform there dealers how this $1000 deposit system works exactly. I finally received my form but it wasn't officially ordered until 6/6/08 at 3pm. My number is #261566. Whew THANKS Oliver for the info on the site or I would not have been pushing the issue of wanting a claim form and conformation number. I would have been singing a sad song come November. Where are you located? I was only taking the US into account as only 2500 are allocated here, I thought this numbering applied here. You are right, it could include other regions. Anyone outside of North America here?
I hope that 261 is the horsepower, followed by unit number.

I'm in the States...Wyoming to be specific.
261 RWHP is possible with this bike with some mods and tuning.
