Re:Claim number sequence, where are you in line? 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I bet there will be 50lbs lost and 15hp gain in an after market exhaust. Then a pwr commander with the right map will be worth a few more ponies. It will take a little while for all the R&D though. Should be alot of potencial!!

Would be pretty cool for all 2500 to sell in less than a week.
I felt guilty thinking the same thing. I think I would prefer a whole bunch of all types of people in on this, though. With this limited production, what are the chances of somebody marketing an exhaust or turbo (hysterical laugh) or even an accessory for this?
I do not understand the marketing, but I think that in two years the price will drop a bit. I guess that if total production-to-street cost is $14k, profit is $4k (at the $18k current price) for a couple of years, at 2500 bikes a year. Also, the premium bike maintains mystique. If the price drops to $16k in two years, people will jump at the chance to own the mystique. In the two intervening years, a profit of $4k/bike has been made. A profit equivalent to 10,000 bikes is made in 2 years though 5,000 bikes are sold, and "the
legend" is maintained, followed by lots of further sales. Just my non-MBA guess.

What was your 3 digit #?
I am 444.
Who will be the first to:
1-drop the exhaust
2-drop the center stand (does it have one? I need to look at the pics again)
3-(drum roll) drop the shaft and convert to chain
I think the first to do this will have a very fast bike.

No center stand - I guess this mod has been done for you!

Any more claim numbers?
At that rate - if you assume the bike keeps selling at a constant rate, to keep it simple - 566 bikes in 3 days, the entire 2500 bikes will be gone in less than 14 days - less than 2 weeks.
If you take the delta from 6/5 to 6/6 about 122 bikes it would go up to 20 days or less than 3 weeks.
I am sure Yamaha would celebrate this as a big success.
Lets wait and see, when the initial rush is over, I am sure these numbers will slow down a bit but it could all be over by end of June before the European pre-order starts.
Re:Claim number sequence, where are you in line? 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I live in Hawaii, which according to the dealer, falls under Japan's district. I was told that Hawaii usually gets the bikes a little earlier than the rest of the mainland because they come directly from Japan. I was also told that Hawaii is not part of the 2500. This is all according to the sales manager.
After reading the posts, i am nervous now cause I never got a claim # after my deposit. I'm calling them asap.
