TOPIC: Claim number sequence, where are you in line?

Re:Claim number sequence, where are you in line? 5 Months ago
I ordered on August 2nd and have claim #262846.

I actually called in an order on day one however the dealer was not really up to speed yet and I didn't receive a claim number and we didn't discuss price at that point (my mistake). Also, even though he took my credit card info they didn't run the card and he indicated that he didn't need to.

This last weekend I decided to confirm pricing and make sure I got my claim number. I called 5 other dealers to perform some price comparisons to use in dicussions with my dealer and only one was willing to move below MSRP and that was only after discussing the dealer's invoice information I obtained from this site.

My original dealer's initial quote was ridicules, MSRP plus some obsence freight and assembly fees. He was not able to even come close to the other dealer's price so now I am with another dealer.

I learned my lesson, get your pricing up front because you don't want any suprises later. Unfortunately I lost my place in line and will probably be waiting until sometime next year but at least I am comfortable with the deal and actually have a claim number.

A part of me hopes they sell the last one on oct 31st. So maybe they sell less maxes for 2010. the more there limited the less i see someone else riding one. i like the fact that i dont see a lot of original vmaxs and hope this one is no exception.

I agree with ya. I have never seen any Max's in my area the last 6 years although I've heard of one running around once.

that's another cool thing about the max. when you hear it, even w/o seeing it, you know what it is immediately. i just love its exclusivity, to me these are the things that make the price justified.

Hey badVmax,

Yea, I'll be in Vegas somewhere around the first week of Feb. I ordered the bike from a dealer near me in Buffalo for almost $4000 less than the guys in Sin City. If it doesn't get here in time for the move, I'll make a trip back to get it eventually. I've got a pickup that it should fit in OK - we'll see.

I'll look you up when we're finally all together in one place. My main job will be way up 95, so it'll be fun making the run every day. Looking forward to that.

See ya

Bought mine June 5 but Yamaha Canada told me today that they don't use claim numbers. So at least add me to the list of members who have bought the new Max!

Welcome to the site! You need to get your claim number or your money back. Yamaha is consistent in the way they do things, and your order should be no different.
