I saw my SO Cal dealer today and had him pull up my order. I have claim #262136. He showed me (on the computer) that my delivery date is showing at: November.

I'nm a new subscriber, but lurked since the site went up. My claim number 261851, although I ordered June 7. It doesn't fit with the dates/numbers posted here.
After learning of the claim number system here, I went back and insisted they follow Yamaha protocol. Sure glad I was watching the discussions!
I've had an '85 for 7 years and love it more every ride. I recall when  came out, I thought "who would want something that big and ugly? I bet the performance hype is only a sales gimmick". in '86 I could have gotten an '85 holdover for $3,995. 15 years later, I paid 4,250 for a used one LOL.
Over time I've come to see the real beauty and overlook the notorious shortcomings. I've always wondered why so many dis the brakes, mine seem to work very well for such a heavy bike.

Yamaha surely learned their lessons from the first  . With the limited edition nearly sold out, their surely wont be any leftovers they have to worry about. In addition they are pulling many - would have been 2009 sales - into 2008. In times of recession that's ingenious!

This caught my eye
If this is accurate then deliveries may have a geographic correlation. I have 261897 and just got off the phone with my dealer I'm still shown as a December delivery<North Carolina>.
I was hoping it got moved up,but not the case.
Can someone with spread sheet skills set up a thread with delivery dates? Maybe just take FX's list and start adding known delivery months/ days(if they ever give them).

So, we are figuring Yamaha has booked 2,211 bikes with 289 left? Is this how we are figuring, or did I miss something? If that's true Yami should be sold out by the end of the month!

We dont really know. At first we thought that Yammi had either reserved the first 200 or so for special use (Yammi VP's vendors etc) but at this point, we can only wait and see if the numbers go over 235XX ...

Yea it has all been speculation. It would be nice if one of the Yamaha Guys would set the record straight and fill all us members in on the real deal! Don't see what the big deal is about telling us the real gig.
