I just received my first Helmet . I got the Nolan 102N-Com Outlaw is flat black. It's really nice and light. I am thinking about a backup Helmet . I am unsure about an open face, still thinking about one an open face.

Are any of you using an open face? How do you like it and how often do you use it?

You got yourself a nice Helmet in the Nolan . I have one also (for convenience), but for a backup Helmet I don't know if I'd go open face. A lot of people like them, and they display a friendlier persona, but on a ? I want protection. Not to be an alarmist or anything, but this is a reality here in florida (unfortunately)

The no Helmet law is starting to meet with resistance, and for good reason. Only one was wearing a Helmet ,"The man was wearing a Helmet , but it was not a Department of Transportation-approved Helmet and failed to protect his head" most likely an open face. An open face may be better than none, but like I said, I want protection. If you read about those tragedies, you'll quickly see you don't have to be gettin crazy on Max for someone to pull out in front of you. I'm not trying to kiss a door post..

We have the same issues here in Colorado. No Helmet law, pants, shirt, shoes, etc. In fact, about a week ago a nut case in his underwear was trying to catch a landing TomCat near Buckley Airforce (there ought to be a law against that).

Anyways, I believe that some open face Helmets are DOT certified, are there not? If so, I was wondering about summer time hot day use. But, I agree with you about the look of and the open face.

It's a Lazer with the Joe Bar Team logos on it. I really like it a lot!!!

Maybe you never heard of the Joe Bar Team? It's a comic (French) about a bunch of bikers in the middle of Paris. Hilarious! http://www.lucane.fr/frame2.htm

I also have a Arai Maverick (dark gray), but haven't used for quite some time now.
