Sales Rates 4 Months, 1 Week ago

Like many others, I suppose, I am constantly checking the "Claim Number Sequence Thread" just to see how many 2009 V-Maxes have been sold to date. Although I'm enthusiastic about Global Sales, I am most curious about the 2500 Units designated for U.S.A. sales. I find myself somewhat surprised at the lack of activity since the Laguna Seca Races.
I suspect others may also be curious about the lack of activity. Having spent a fair amount of time "gawking" at the list. I am somewhat facinated by the relationship of "Total Units Sold versus Members Who Have Purchased". I created the following to help me visualize Quantities Sold per Week (thought I'd share it with the rest of you):
Again - this pertains to "U.S. Sales".

What is it? Did you forget to upload it? Also, take into account that not everyone who purchased a 2009 unit is a member of this site. Rest assured all the units will sell out, if they have not already (for all we know).

Well, that didn't go so well ........... Apparently "HTML" files don't work.
I'll try something else .......... Please stand-by and wish me luck!

It ill be intriguing to figure what will happen in that graph once the rags report on their findings. Think about it. This is a unique window in time. Performance of the 09 is all speculation to the general public. If this bike is what it is hyped , expect a big spike in that chart.

I would expect 150+ (at least) this week!
It would be nice if someone were to register with a Claim Number - just to satisfy my curiosity on where we are in the Sales Numbers.
Then again, there are (at least) 1332 Happy Soles awaiting their own "Selfish Indulgence of Earth Shaking Performance"
ALRIGHT!!

I know it is a tad selfish, but I am hoping there are still available orders in Oct. I am having some surgery in Sept and want to wait until afterwards to make a decision on a new bike. But, I am not too hopeful they will still be around. I may have to wait for next years run.

Nice chart! Sales seem to have stabilized at around 150 a week. That's less than 8 weeks left. I agree that once we will see ride reviews this will go up, especially if the testers like what they ride.
Now, there has not been any testing going on so far. I assume it will happen in the next 2-4 weeks. Magazines will take at least 4-6 weeks to publish. Might put them out after the sales are done...
Well, we shall see, won't we?

Yes we shall see! I highly doubt it but if the rags trash the thing for whatever reason then of course sales will suffer. Another thing
that would cause sales to suffer is if some kind of problem pops up during the manufacturing process. I'll use the 90's Corvette ZR-1 fiasco as an example. For some reason, those 32 valve hand built Lotus motors were seizing up. I believe Chevy blamed it on some spec out of whack during the builds. That put a damper on sales and I do recall reports of those cars languishing on dealer lots for quite awhile. I doubt Yamaha would let something like that happen but sh.t does happen!
I firmly believe that if the 09 doesn't live up to all the hype when it gets wrung out by the rags, some people will walk away
from their grand deposit and not take delivery.
