As of today there are almost a hundred new avatars available for you to pick from. In order to do so select 'My Profile' from the top menu and click on 'Update Your Image'.
All the new avatars are
specific pics from all around the world, downsized and cleanup.
In addition, going forward every new user will get a random avatar assigned, as long as no custom one has been selected. Feel free to pick a different one or to upload your own custom one.

We have added even more avatars and there are plenty more to come. If anybody has suggestions for the types of avatars to be included don't be shy and let me know.
