Anybody having problems with the site? 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Today marks a fairly major step forward in the usability of www.starVmax.com.
For those of you around since the beginning, you might remember that URLs (the text in your browsers address bar) have been fairly cryptic - as with most dynamic websites.
As long as you just browse the site or post, that is not much of an issue, most will never notice.
However, search engines aren't very smart (even today's most famous ones). In order for the to 'understand' the context of various pages, so-called Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is required.
As you can see the new URLs now contain in real text the heading of a specific page. Doing so allows search engines to better index the site, an important step as we are planning to use more search engine functionality on the fast growing web site.
The better the site gets indexed and categorized, the more meaningful are search results, once we turn them on as a medium to search the content of the site.
As this is a rather radical change to the addresses of the site, there might be bugs and issues that we have yet to find. If you run into such (like clicking on a link and ending up on the home page) please let us know by replying to this thread. We will look into the problem as quickly as possible.

I have been recieving e-mail notification of every thread that I post in. Even though I have never subscribed to recieve an update. No big deal at first, but as the site grows and I post more it will be overwhelming. I looked in my profile but do not see where I can turn this off. Can you check this out?
