I wonder why they don't show this part on their website under the accessories?
It will be, they probably don't have the inventory as of yet to handle a flood of orders.
Chas
Well, after a lot of thought on this ecu i am going to order it.
My 85,93 or 99 did not have this. Often a blast across the bridges here in fla can easily put you over 150 it has happened before. Next week the dealers will be able to order them, hopefully it gets here when max does. I can not spend that kind of money and be limited to a speed. I like the light to light better then flat out flying.. But ride to the beach and you have to cross a bridge to get home Roll it on baby.. In boost we trust
I have been really kicking this around and I think as soon as I acquire some other things I want/need, I am going to make this a priority to get one as well. I just had my '98 up to 135 this last week. I don't drive like that often, but my '98 has no limiter and I am with you VMXJAK, to spend that kind of money and get something thats limited bothers me.

I'm hoping for an aftermarket solution, or third party version .... maybe in the $299 range. I'm just not able to swallow spending so much money on the bike already ..... and then another $850 to correct a feature that I almost would label a defect. I said almost, flame on.

I agree but it will take the after market guys a while to get it right there is a lot of electronics which yamaha already knows
I guess i just dont want to wait. I think if i have to wait for any thing it will be a way to eliminate the fly by wire throttle,
What do you guys think??

Hopefully the fly by wire interaction can be programed to our individual liking like cars are, such as performance to quicken response etc.

As I understand it the fly by wire system was installed to eliminate rider errors (fi when going a bit too enthousiastic on the gas).
So what I think is this: it's okay to get rid of it but do please realize than it's completely up to you to keep is safe...
