maybe there is fluctuations between netherlands euro and french euro
really strange marketing from yamaha. i don't appreciate the way they make it.
and really too expensive ! With the 100 HP limitation in France and the price of the gazoline (1,6 euro/litre ... = 2,5 $/l... tomorrow it will be a luxury to drive), i will not buy this bike. I keep my REAL
!
bike's 19.4 % BPM over 16.722 = 3.242
19 % BTW over 16.722 = 3.177
+16.722
_________
total 23.141 euro = $ 36.521,13
We pay $2,68 for 1 liter gas (benzine)
I want to live in in the USA
btw You don't anser my question
If you wire the money, I will put in the order for you and your friends.
But you have to take care of shipping, importing - the bikes would have to be picked up by a shipper as soon as they show up.
With the taxes you will have to pay back home you would end up paying:
About $21k here in the US (you don't get a chance to not paying taxes here - might save a few hundred on registration)
About $3-4k for shipping per bike (could be more with Insurance)
Your 6k Euro in taxes back in the Netherland (as I am sure they will calculate the taxes based on the MSRP in the Netherlands.
That's a lot of hassle for not much of a discount once you sum everything up.

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer and of course the offer to put in the order.
And you're right, it's a lot of trouble to save maybe a few euros.
After some serious and deep thinking we decided to go for the European quotum of Maxxes. We both want this bike so badly, and mind you, we think for the right reasons; weighed all the pros and cons.
We've already spoken to 2 Dutch dealers and with one of them we'll take the plunge to reserve 2 new Maxxes for us on July the First. It's gonna set us back tremendously and we'll have to economize for a number of years, but okay, if that's what it takes, so be it.
We'll meet you in 2010 in the summer on the Stelvio, deal?
You know what - I will set this one up as a thread for a potential 2010 Next Gen
Gathering.
Would be fun if a bunch of new Maxxes showed up at the Stelvio.
not only at the Stelvio and not necessary as late as 2010, but also earlier and somewhere else.
I've been thinking about self importing from the US. But we would need to make some Alterations in the Lights Area and possibly other technical Problems as well, and let's not forget the Problems with Pollution Control Statement/Papers. This might be the biggest Obstacle. And not to forget the Factory Warranty. This is a brand new Bike ...
I won't go for a new Max. I'm in the Market for a cheap '83 to '85 Venture rolling Chassis ....
