Re:Discuss: Customized 2009 VMax 5 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I love em, but before I change anything, I want to see the new bike in person and have it "grow on me" abit. Im sure the weight savings would be nice, but at quick glance, some of the parts I would be interested in, seem abit pricey.. Ill see how I feel in the spring when I have had most of the winter to gawk Max...
I for one will make my own mods again since I can't see much interest in what is offered. I'm sure that there will be many more offered in later months+ but what they have, looks good. Wish they had a helium balloon to lighten the thing up a bit. )

the back rest and screen an absolute must, prefer the screen without the alloy inserts.
would like to tour next year, the luggage looks a little small,
the alloy inserts look a bit naff.
the carbon bodywork is nice but hardly significant, the weight saving will be minor.
What we need is a race exhaust system (track use only of course)
loose loads of weight and gain loads of power.

Precicely!
Yamaha - ahm sorry: Star Motorcycles,
Where it the Speedstar exhaust that should come with the accessories?
Also the Stage IV kit is completely missing! - What a great way to get back those 5 de-tunes...

That blacked out, no tail look of the custom 2009 is exactly the look I would go for......like admins fxstein's photo!
Except I'd take off the pillion seat...wifey doesn't like to ride anymore.

Bob
FYI: Not the pillion seat. It's the red stitched Stiletto seat, Star offers. It has some great back support for the rider. The rest is just for looks. Not a passenger seat at all.

The star website has a little photo of the badge. Don't know anything more.
All manufacturers have incentive programs for their dealers to sell accessories, like you get points when you fly an airline or dollars you spend on your credit card. Nothing more, nothing less.
