GPS locator for your Max 1 Month, 1 Week ago
If lojack is a little out of your budget due to the cost of the Max here's something I just ran across.

www.zoombak.com/

if you purchase the one for your auto, and find an alternate backup powersource. Its possible to locate your bike in the event that (shhh I wont jink it by saying it). It cost only $200 and you can have a year contract for around $150. Of course like all things its just a matter of time for it to be found and de-activiated.

So for a little more personal assurance here ya go.

I suggest using a permanent marker to hide the lettering and power light. stuff it behind some known electical components. Again power it thru a secondary backup (it comes with an onboard battery).

Please feel free to give possitive and negative feedback. Just looking out for my fellow Maxist.

This is a great idea. Not sure how well this particular unit works and holds up, but a good idea nonetheless.

The Baja 1000 just finished last week and one of the racers crashed hard and was separated from his bike for a few minutes while bystanders tended to him. Once he got his senses back he looked for his bike and couldn't find it. All of the bikes/cars on the Baja 1000 carry a transponder (similar to the idea presented in this thread). The rider contacted his crew, who were able to view the location of the bike. A local Mexican guy had him hop in his pickup and his crew instructed them on which direction to go. They followed the signal to a house nearby. There were some discussions in spanish, which the racer did not understand, then the guy with the pickup took him around to the back of the house where the bike was hidden under a tarp. Bottom line, he got his bike back right away. If he would have had to follow the usual process of engaging the police, who knows when, or if, he would have ever gotten the bike back.

Anyway, that's my real world example of where this type of technology saved the day!!

I'd love to hear from anyone who has used this technology and had an incident.

Great Idea for the Max...

I would usually not want my vehicle back after its been stolen!!

Not with the MAX though....I want it back fast!!!

I just ned to weigh out the pros and cons.....

Lojack VS.Zoombak

Lojack: $500 (ouch), Police data base (+), uses radio frequency not sattelite wich equals better recovery(+), Can't track yourself until its reported stolen or wife reports it stolen because your out tool'n around too late( big -)

Zoombak: $150 At target( a +), but you ned to pay monthly fee(-),
Being able to track where ever you go is pretty cool....Being able to track down your bike yourself and handling justice for your max( a BIG+)..

Need some one to buy both and tell me what to get.

What he said ^.

Star should have fitted one of these to keep track of where our bikes are at!!!

Good investment in the right price range to keep your YOURS!
Thanks for the heads up on this one and will be wise to get one.

I think a lot of lowlifes would be very keen to get their grubby light fingers on a MAX, and what better way to find em and shut em down for a few months while their legs are in casts.

Pokey.

I would not be walking away leaving a few broken legs...The SOB that took my bike...better find god really fast because he would be on the express to meet him face to face.....Remember my is bk angel....not me if you cross that line...enough said..

Yeah I hear ya bk,

but laws are laws, and with my method I would be out of the lockup quicker, then ride my Max to their place to break their legs all over again so they would suffer often.
