removing blinkers.. 1 Month ago
well that was a chore. removing fronts came off fairly easily four bolts to get behind the headlight. Rear license plate bracket and signals were a different story. Rear bracket comes off easy enough but unhooking wires is aggravating. The whole rear fender is sealed with plastic rivets and inner fender does not like to come apart. access hole under rear seat is barely big enought tot get one hand in after removing rear master cylinder and regulator which are housed back there. then need to take small bend screwdriver to release quick connects on electrical, all this while being contorted sideways for twentminutes...thank god for flexible self mount flashlights
bike looks great without them also lowered front 1 inch and re adjusted handlebars..starting to have that sleek drag bike look. now i just need to get rear shock off and see if works or progressive will rebuild for me lowered. doesn't look like star made this one easy to mess with

You ogt any pics of the rear minus turn signals? That's the first thing I do with new bikes as well, along with the mirrors. Are the outer fenders steel or plastic again like the gen I?

About your exhaust experiment, you gutted the cans and still no real improvement in sound? How difficult was it to remove the catalitic converter/muffler box, do you need a lift?

Thanks

we removed the cans and no real improvement maybe a decibel...we have not taken the exhaust off all the way yet.. they still need the bike for the shop floor until others arrive, thought is to open the cats and remove guts then reweld but won't know anything until they can do that. I do not have a time frame but will post as needed. bike looks much better w/out mirrors and blinkers here is shot of rear
