I just ordered one, $16,990 is what my soaking was which includes freight/setup, etc etc etc. I didn't get a confirmation card, all I have is a copy of a canceled check and a 'Motor Vehicle Purchase Contract.' The dealer said there are 'plenty' of them left, whatever that means. I called today, they said delivery could be as early as end of October.
Bill, It's a good price on your buy. You beat me by 10 bucks. I am a pinch concerned. If I understand correctly, unless your dealer already had a new Max coming in, the delivery date should be towards the back of the bus. You ordered in Wisconsin right? Also you should get a order number, like 26xxxx. Check the order thread to see what I mean. October does seem early. I imagine the dealership doesn't understand the ordering system. I ordered in June and won't see mine until Dec. You should also get an eng badge with your order number on it. There are some dealers that are confused on the purchase set up with the new Max. Mine was somewhat. I was able to unconfuse my dealer with the info I received off this site. Thanks, Mark
Make sure you have a receipt, proof of total cost and that number.
OK. Seen on another thread that the dealer bought some bikes for himself. Makes sense. You very well be one of the 1st to get one.

Thanks Mark,
I am not too convinced that the dealer is fully up on the process. I have a purchase contract and it has an anticipated delivery date on it of 11/15/08. The fine print below that says that if the bike doesn't arrive within 15 days of the delivery date, I can cancel. Based on what I read here, I am only assuming that they are going to release one of the 2 bikes they pre-ordered, or I should be out in February or something based on my order date. I'll keep anyone posted .... I am amazed that it will take Yamaha that long to deliver 2500 bikes, shows you how little I know about that industry.
