Hello. Well after some weeks of final consideration, I put the 1K down on a new
. I'm told by the dealer that the bike I get is the first one they put their orders in on. It was ordered the 1st day that dealers were allowed, months ago. So the dealer said possibly it could arrive in Oct.
The more I read about it, the more it sounds like the right bike.
My first cycle ride was in 1957; I was 5. I've never been without a dirt bike since (thanks early on to Mom and Dad).
When I first got a D/L, I also got a honda 55 and rode it to high school and that started the road bike affair. After the Honda, there were some Brigestone's, then some Kaw's. We rode a lot--summer and winter--in Montana, often on snowpack and ice. In 1967 I built a Knucklehead from an apple basket of parts and then a Panhead from a box of parts -- they were oil leakers for sure, I sent the frames to a chrome shop in Missoula and they were completed with chromed frames with raked necks, and we laid lace over the peanut tank and sprayed it "black cherry" leaving an outline of lace in white primer before a clear coat. They were awfull handling things with a fifty mile range but we never thought ill about that! In the years that past, I built or modded, and rode Harley's-maybe 15 or so. There was always time for dirt bikes too: bultaco, hodaka, and lots of yamahas. For a few years my friends and I rode mostly Husky's or Mako's and raced. Then we got more interested in road bikes and dual-purpose bikes. The last five years I've mostly ridden VRods, Hondas, Suzuki's and Kaw's (I currently have a V2K and a couple of Honda dirt bikes). However, this
looks like it tops everything street legal, a lot of power and a lot of amazing engineering. There seems to be no substitute for bikes --I tried Corvettes and even a couple of Porsches, but mostly they sat --every available time for a ride was capitalized on a bike. Anyway, great riding to you all and keep 'er right side up or ride 'er like a surfboard! Bruce
