What a great Site this is. Been looking at it for a while now and decided to take the plunge.
Had Bikes for many years, all sorts from 250's to Z1300's. Had a break (much too long)from biking for nearly 18 years and then decided that it was in my blood and I really missed it so I took the plunge and in June last year I purchased a 2004 Ltd Edition
(I fitted Race laser Prostocks) which sound fantastic. Less than 3500 miles and in superb condition. What a bike to start back on, absolutley the most awesome macine I have ever owned.
Love the look of the new 2009
, but its too expensive for me here in the UK....What a rip-off price.
So over here in the UK, those of us that cant afford GBP 16,000 !! will have to use our initiative and source one elsewhere....Watch this space.
Welcome mate and, yeah, great site here and nice people.
I'm same as you tbh, I sold my 99 Max a few months back to wait for the new bike and wham! £16 grand! I mean, bloody 'ell! I was hoping £12k tops and really wanted it for £10k. Oh well, I'll just have to wait....
you took quite a step after 18 years, i ran a 2003 max for three years, always made me grin. only got rid because of the crazy mileage i managed to acrue (over 50k)swore that if yam ever brought out a new model i would get one.
Role on march 2009!!!
Really hope that yam see sense and revise the pricing, no way that $18000 converts to £16000 even with all the taxes we have to pay!
Anyway probably see you out on the road some time, brand new max and a begging bowl!!
I cannot see Yamaha UK doing anything with the £16k prices at present, rumour is that they are only bringing in 100 units and most of these have been sold. Due to the fact that there is such a small number being released here in the uk, there are some who will buy them to try and make a quick profit aka Aud1 R8's, which were changing hands for some £25-£30k above MSRP !!.
16K is far too much for me, and all this will do is drive people elsewhere.....watch this space !!.
My phone bill will probably cost me more than the Bike will !. Some great prices out there....$16,700
Out the Door !!, just waiting on exchange rates to improve.
