Yamaha Star Vmax Otadama Concept Drawing As the release date of the All New Yamaha Star VMax is getting closer new concept drawings about technical details have surfaced from patent applications, submitted by Yamaha. The drawings describe some of the technical details surrounding the all new Otodama engine and its exhaust system. The underbelly exhaust system is new and integrates catalytic converter and most of the sound muffling into a central under carriage cannister. The plans spec out the exhaust routing from the Otodama engine. And there is more.
Really intersting are the details about the all new Otodama engine, still believed to be 1800cc. The variable valve timing (VVT) as well as details about the DOHC and head design are layed out in great detail.
The plans show dual butterflies for the down draft throttle boddies, no real surprise, as the engine and intake should be tuned for very high levels of power, requiring the smarts of an onboard ECU to control how quick the throttle opens all the way.
