Description

At least once in your life you have had to be there: The Dragon, Deals Gap, Hwy 129 - that mythically famous road that connects Tennessee with North Carolina. This groups is for all that have slayed (or are about to) the Dragon.

Any addvice on weather in the October time period, at the GAP? (pro's & con's) I'd like to combine my vacation to inlcude the GAP prior to Biketoberfest in Daytona (instead of two seperate trips...riding in from out west). ----Darel

Last year on the new Max was my 4rth pilgrimage to the Gap, stayed at the little hotel there a couple days, great. That gives you an extra hour in the morning to yourself before everyone else shows up. The other three trips were on my '98. Will be going back soon, hopefully with you guys.

What a great week VMax Dragon Fest 2010 was! The PERFECT Dragon. Just re-opened to the public from the NC side, barely any traffic, only 2 troopers there all week. Great fun!

Been there, tore that sh!t up.
There are alot of great roads in that area.
129 has become too congested for my tastes.

Hope to attend. May need to trailer part way as we can have snow and/or salt still that time of the year in Michigan. I would love to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway down to the event.........
