Synchronous Chat... a possibility?? 2 years, 3 months ago #1

Hello,
So far all text tools are asynchronous. Would it be possible to add a chat applet in the forum. This way we could have synchronous access to members. To prevent abuse or misuse we could perhaps have a setting that allows ONLY for friends to chat with each other.... Just an idea  VP09 |

That would be very cool. I know there were times I wanted to 'ping' someone right away...

Very cool Oliver,
What if we could run the actual server application from an already existing third party chat server and simply run an applet interface from the site??? Much like what we do with YOUTUBE's video feed. The feed originates elsewhere while a function calls up the feed remotely.... Just an idea  VP)( fxstein wrote: Yes we tested such a feature for a couple weeks. It is very server expensive.
