BBJordo has a VMAX now too! 1 year 3 months ago #1

Yep yep, picked her up on Thursday afternoon and rode her home. I've put roughly 160km on her since then and still haven't spun the rear wheel! :nonono: It's hard to find a place around here to really unleash the Max's fury.
It's a 2010 (Don't worry, it won't be the slower red for too long, I promise ;)) It had 4,700km when I picked it up and it's in immaculate condition.....apart from a small scuff mark on the right exhaust tip.

The pictures are kinda lousy but they'll do for now:

A couple of questions:
Is it normal for the headers to glow red hot after a ride?
Does the throttle feel a bit 'loose' on anyone elses Max. Even small dips in the road make it hard to keep my throttle hand steady, but maybe that's just the way it is.

Now I need a new helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots because mine are all old and worn! I must refrain from even thinking about accessories such as carbon fiber, OTEC and new exhausts otherwise I'm going to be flat broke. :nononono:

BB congrats on the delivery. Must be frustrating not being able to open it up all the way.

I don't have that loose throttle feeling at all. That being said, the throttle doesn't feel heavy when opened. So I don't know with what bike you're comparing it. Might want to make sure it's okay, though...

Good luck on the mods, starting with your own, haha! :yeah:

"Fly by wire" Throttle very touchy extreme engine braking when you back off the trottle on a stocker
As Reg stated the Flash will smooth all that out including the engine braking .

2 things that make the most difference midpipe/flash , Exhaust system/flash .

Cheap Mod double "D' clutch mod extends the clutch life 2 fold and helps put the power to the ground about 50 bucks

No Mar or Tidy tail license plate holder to get rid of the Shovel on the back.

Congratulations on "RED"

Welcome,

Yes FLASH the beast...a must.

The Captain forgot to mention chaning out the brake and clutch lines to steel braided...a must you'll feel feel and your front tire will appreciate.

Congrats with your well chosen Purchase BB  , and welcome to the Sickness of the Quickness :sick2: .

Only 140km to go to 5000km and the next service, I would say it is already ridden in, give it some berries man, hang on, and ride it like you stole it! You and the Max will love it.

:focus: Now your hooked on it for sure.

Pokey.

Congrats Bro. Welcome to your new Girlfriend/Mistress. B)

+1 on what they all have said. BTW, you can hide that exhaust tip scuff by switching it out with the other side if you like. ;)

if your throttle feels loose. check the play. Look up in the manual how to adjust. Mine got loose after break in and had to be adjusted. But it feels jerky when riding, it just might be the feel of a shaft drive bike.

Have fun with your new ride and post up often.
