TOPIC: Saddle bags

Saddle bags 2 years, 1 month ago #1

Are the Yamaha hard saddle bags for the Vmax "quick detachable" or are they pretty much permanently mounted?

2bikes...You can change the bike from completely stock to Maxbagger in 10 minutes and back to completely stock in 10 minutes. I have a set NEVER used I was waiting to sell in the spring time if you're interested. I put on the Arrow cans and cannot use them. Again...never used (I installed them and then took them off) $350.00 plus shipping (probably $25) state wide. This includes the additional mounting hardware. Or anyone?

Thanks for the reply. So what does it take to do this? Is it just a couple bolts? What is the aditional hardware? Are there special brackets?

The mounting hardware kit basically includes long bolts and spacers that go in place of the cosmetic trims that are attached to the rear fender. These long bolts go thru the bags to hold them on. There is also some clear plastic stick on film that appears to be reusable that sticks onto the fender so as the bags do not scratch the paint. Very nice design and fit. Check out the cost and info on the "Star" web site....Please "PM" me if interested. I will put them on ebay sometime soon if not. My price is more than fair.

Thanks Remaxed but going to pass. I was hoping they were quickly detachable. Going to get a set of throwover soft bags instead. Great price on your bags though so you will have no problem selling them.

you could do what i've done with a quick release mount (four knobs hold the bags on and when you take them off you can mount a grab rail).
