To get the max (pun intended) riding together time I could come over the hill and we could meet in Temecula. How about the Mobil (we ride vmaxes we should probably start at a gas station) just East of where 79 and 15 meet?

Well, Google maps says the trip will take 1hr 30mins (2hrs 30mins if there is heavy traffic) I dont really think there will be heavy traffic on a sunday morning.. JINX!!! (DOHHH!!!) so if we leave there by 9:30 am we should be golden. So maybe if we meet there at 9:00 am would be good. Remember, This will be my very FIRST glimpse at a Gen 2. So there might be some quick clean up before we ride. (lol) And we need to fuel up too. So 9:00 am on the 24th or 31st.

Steve,
Ok, 09:00 on the 24th or 31st at that Mobil Station (on the 79 where the 15 meets the 79)...

You do realize that I will have to stop again probably before we arrive at San Pedro to fill up???...

I get 30 mpg at BEST. Gen 1's hold 3 gallons. I have 90 miles per tank MAX. Im going to be trying to keep up with a gen 2 on my gen 1. So I'll be getting (insert your guess of how bad of mileage I will get here) so I'll be needing a station probably before you. I thought we ALL agreed that the 3 things you can depend on when riding a Vmax are 1) you are riding one of the fastest things out there. 2) you will have to stop a LOT for fuel 3) you will look forwards to stopping for fuel because they are pretty uncomfortable.

Steve,
I thought I was getting shitty MPG on my 2006 at 35-37MPG...didn't you read the "owner's manual for idiots"...where it says, "the round tubular thingy on the right hand side of the handlebars is the GO-JUICE controller and should NEVER be in the WOT position, ALL THE TIME!!!"???...

If you are expecting a high speed run to San Pedro...it won't be happening...well...to a certain extent that is...I ride sanely and normally...well as sanely and normally as is done on w V-Max that is...

As far as the 3 things you can depend on when riding a Vmax are concerned...
1) you are riding one of the fastest things out there.
A) Well, pretty damn close to the top of the food chain, Yes...
We'll really see after I get mine Dyno Tuned today with the PCV, X-Pipe, Monster Big Air, K&Ns and Race ECU onboard...

2) you will have to stop a LOT for fuel
A) Why???...See no. 1) above...duhhhhh...

3) you will look forwards to stopping for fuel because they are pretty uncomfortable.
A) Not as true as the Gen-1s...instead of 50 miles MAX, the Gen-2s can be ridden for 60 miles before your asshole feels like it is in your throat and you have absolutely no feeling in your ass cheeks...that part of the Yamaha design hasn't changed since 1985 and I don't want to hear about it from anyone...there are NO after-market seats that provide more then a few miles more comfort over OEM seats...Corbin, Sargent, Sportsmax...ALL of them...are the same...I honestly don't think it is the seat...it's the blood rushing down into your toes from the out-of-this-world acceleration each and every time you shoot-out and for that matter, the whole time you are moving, that makes your butt thirst for more air-enriched blood flow...no wonder they can ride HDs for hundreds of miles at a time...

Are we OFF-TOPIC here???...

Run Steve...we are going to be moderated and prevented from QUOTING again!!!...open a NEW thread!!!...

I never read anything "For Idiots".

"It won't be happening" - Good thing we both have the address of our destination. We can meet up there. BUT... If you have ANY Vmax in your DNA you wont be able to putt along watching another bike especially another Vmax slowly getting smaller in FRONT of you. We usually only see that in our mirrors. But it's all good we will ride somewhere between our comfort zone.

We are fine with Big Brother. I have some dirt on one of the moderators. (ghey dirt, Shhhh) lol. And, I know how to short circuit another one of them. (post skin) lol.
