TOPIC: Brocks production model pipes.

Brocks production model pipes. 2 years 2 months ago #1

I dont want to trash Torc's thread so I started another. Maybe TB can shed some light on whats going on. Otherwise we will have to wait for Brock D. to come and clear things up abit.

I did some digging and cant help but "pipe" up about whats going on. The pipes that are shipping from Brocks are not what they advertise on the website. I have been in contact with their support, and they promised to send me a pic of the alien head setup, but I have yet to receive it. If I do get it and they give me permission, Ill post it.

Here is my delema. This is what they are telling us is comming in the mail. This is what the consumer is getting. (Sorry to use your pic Torc) I for one like the first one, the second one looks like they did some work for R corner clearance, but took the pipe and threw it waaay out back. I know that prototypes often do not match the production model, but then there is no business for the prototype pic to be depicted on the sales page.

Thoughts? :cigar:

Well......my thoughts are.... THAT'S PRETTY SCREWED UP! I haven't purchased one, but I have a friend who did and has it layed out on his garage floor as I'm typing this. He's rarely on this site so I will have to give him a heads up. Thanks.

I agree, they should not advertise a product that is not for sale. It would not be so bad if the different between the prototype they have pictured and the production system was not so dramatic. It is Ok for us on the forum because thanks to TB21 we have been constanly updated so we know what we are getting. However for those who are so fortunate to be a part of the best forum on the web :winkwink: , have to deal when they get a system that looks totally different from what they ordered :hmmm: !

Here's another shot from a slightly different angle. I did purchase the cheapest full system - the stainless steel version. Didn't think CF would go faster.

Glad to help, Kodiak. Don't mind a bit, it's important we get want we want.

It's entirely possible that I f'ed up the install, but I thought I did it correctly. I followed the directions and it all seemed to make sense.

It's also possible a longer pipe makes more torque, but we'll have to get the word from Brock on that.

I can take more pics if you guys want.

First off , Torc your install job looks perfect you did nothing wrong.

Ok,
I hate to do this for I feel like Brock would be better at handling it , but he is a very busy guy right now , Im not even sure he's back from his business in Daytona.
Yes the pipe that that is being shipped as the the finished production unit is different than the prototype that I was running and the earlier pics.
As most of you are aware the prototype had some fitment issues that didn't settle well with Brock's requirements (I thought it was fine) but Brock is a very picky person when he puts his name and reputation on a product. And after getting my bike back with the finished production pipe Im very happy they changed it.
On the production unit the collectors were layed flat (not for a clearance problem) it just made the fit much better. And yes the muffler is back a few inches farther now , looks to me like the mid pipe is longer but Scott and Brock both say its not , its just what happened when the collectors were repositioned.
I can assure you that the new pipe is way better than the prototype , it looks better IMHO and it deffinately makes more power , enough that I can feel a difference , mainly low and mid range improvement.
The proto pipe on my bike made 201hp with the syock bridgestone 200 tire , the new pipe is making 200.28 with a 240 conti tire. I've road about 400 miles since I got it back and it performs very strong and rideability is very smooth.
I agree with most of you on not caring for the bare stainless look on torc's bike , I like the ceramic black with carbon fiber much better , but its torc's bike and if he likes it its no concern of ours.
Now as far as what pics are on Brock's Performance web site , Im not addressing that , I do know that they took a huge pile of the new pipe to post and Im sure they'll get them up soon , they also have sound clips to get out.

Kodiak,
Im not sure what your calling the alien head setup???
Theres the GEN4 muffler which is whats on mine , its a GEN3 type with the alien shape, the round megs and the alien head megs.

I hope these pics help , I also took one of the other side to show how clean the left side looks without a muffler there.

Thanks TB for clearing that up. They still need to fix their website. Ill be honest, I don't care much for the new pipe. I'm a fan of the prototype. To each their own. The alien head (in my mind) is this pipe. Ill bug them again tomorrow for a pic to see how far back it goes.
