So tell me, realistically how much hp and speed can he get out of it? I won't race him. I have nothing to prove but I want to be able to respond intelligently when he tells me that it has a stage 1 kit in it and makes 280 HP. We will be riding together soon and he is the kind to overstate everything.
I actually like the VRod and always have. Almost bought one instead of the VMax but chose wisely and never looked back. I admit that of all the Vrods the Muscle is the one that I like the least so this isn't envy....I just want to know what that bike can really do.

280 hp? Honest, maybe the most about 120 h.p. to the wheel. Any roll on, you will just pull away!

Stage 1 turbo kit only makes 170 hp at the rear wheel so where he thinks he is getting 280 hp is a dream.

Just challenge him to a Dyno Test!!

He hasn't said 280hp yet but that is the kind of overstating he typically does so I am just expecting it.
What you gave me is the kind of info I need just so I am aware of what is realistic.

With a stage 1 getting 170hp at the rear wheel then it could give a Vmax a bit of a run right? Doesn't a stock Vmax get about 178hp at the rear wheel? I am totally stock. I think the one dyno I ever had I got 178hp at the rear wheel.

130hp & 145mph max is about what it will do without a Turbo.. It makes 86ft lbs. of torque @6500rpm..

There is no possible way that he can produce that kind of HP. I have a vrod and enjoy it a great deal but there is no comparison as far as speed and technology is concerned! Before I bought my vmax I looked into turning up my vrod. I talked with a Harley mechanic and asked him if he could turn up my vrod to match a vmax. His answer was "I can turn it up but there is no way that you will match a vmax" as he was laughing. He said that he had a buddy that had a vmax and he had a vrod. He said that he had his vrod with "NOS" and still couldn't keep up with him and his buddy was riding a Gen 1! Only one way to tell...Line them up!!

Most of the Stage 1 turbo kits available for the VROD will bring HP numbers ranging between 150 to 170.

It is the only way a VROD will have any kind of shot at hanging around a bone stock Gen 2 VMAX.

Thanks. All this info does help a lot. I am considering very heavily getting the race ecu or the re-flash. A little apprehensive about the re-flash since I still have a couple years on my warranty but maybe there is nothing to fear.
