What Qtip (Ted) is referring to happend on the way back from the Red River. I was coming up on a sharp left turn (on this country two lane road) and I was in 5th gear. As I entered the turn, I lost the engine and rolled off the main road and rolled over the driveway on the right hand side of the road and entered the grassy area to the right of the road. I kept the bike upright and slowed down to a full stop. Turned the ignition off and back on and re-started the engine. I never lost the bike, I kept it upright thru the experience. I rolled back onto the road and all was well. Qtip and a couple other riders were "kind" enough to follow me to make sure I had so subsequent problems. I was fine and when we reached our next fuel stop all was well. The bike never acted up again. The trip was a success. Baron |

yea the wind was a bit high for high speed runs also the road to the bridge seemed a little on the slick side as i did the hokey pokey shifting between 1st and second on one hard run,i came close to going down but got lucky.

Yep....I was in 5th grear and just downshifted for the upcoming turn and when I released the clutch the engine quit...the tach dropped to zero and I could not hear the engine running....the lights came on the tach/spedo indicating that the engine had stalled. |
