TOPIC: Brand new 2009, Whats it worth?
Brand new 2009, Whats it worth? 1 year 9 months ago #1

My local dealer says he has a brand new 2009 with 0 miles they finally uncrated and put on the showroom. He said he ordered 8 when they first came out and it has taken them this long to get rid of the first 7 and can discount this bike heavily. There is not a very strong market up here for this bike and we are domanited by Harleys and big adventure bikes mostly.
Just looking for advice on what would be considred a good price on a 3 year old "new" vmax or would it be better to have them order a 2012 and pay full price? |

When I went shopping, I found out of state bikes (2009's) for sale in the $14-16K range. I ended up purchasing a 2011 since I did not want to have to pay to have a bike shipped plus the upfront cost of purchaing the new bike. The 2012 is matte black....I would think if you have one local that is new, the '09 high gloss black would look at lot nicer than matte black. IMHO So negotiate and see what the dealer will go down ...I got my dealer to drop the price over $3K just by asking and challenging him over his present inventory levels. Good luck.... |

Thanks for the info, I will be seeing the bike on tuesday and will see what he will do. I know the owner pretty well as i was his service manager for a couple years so that may help {or hurt lol} also along with bike season being about over and snowmachines just getting ready.

No matter what you pay....
IT'S Worth It!! You should be able to get a grand per year discount. I have a n 09 up here at a dealership for 16900.. We've seen them go around the states on this forum as low as 15500. New is well worth the retail price. But what ever you could save would be needed for accessories and Mods.. Enjoy your purchase and try not to go in there drooling... Post pics soon... MikE D |

Buy the 09' its the same as a new one. I would beat the guy down though. I got mine brand new with 0 miles back in June of 09' for $15,700. I would say $14-14.5 would be a fair price.

If he did in fact order 8 when they came out, his price was $15,287. Anything around there is a good deal on a GREAT Bike!

The only difference between all four years is color. Go for the 09.

I paid 14,200 for a new leftover 09 vmax in march of this year. I wasn't going to buy one this year but thought that was to good a deal to pass up.

The dealer may not be aware of the 2009 Vmax being the fastest year of the Gen2 MAX.
I'd pay up to 16k for that bike IF i wanted a brand new one and could actually swing it. Yes times ARE tough...But IF you're even considering THIS AWESOME BIKE... you better snap out of it and realize you are about to purchase basically a dragbike that you can tour with, that gets I really hope you get it with a good price, you're gonna need it for tires too. |
