TOPIC: Finally own a vmax!! Want best performance exhaust

Here's a recent post I did with a couple video's (one at the top of page and one a little further down) with Dale Walkers Holeshot Exhaust with the 10" Mufflers. Can't say enough about Dale's exhaust...top notch fit and finish, it takes longer to get the stock exhaust off than to put his on! I hope to have an off the bike video, acceleration from the rear of the bike and one in a fly by soon. Tim Nash also has the Flash for this setup...also can't say enough about Tim Nash's ECU reflash...wicked!! Here's the post:

I was a tried and true 4-2 guy till I spent some time at Tims V MAX Ranch and watched what the Brock system can do, hands down the best performer add the Big air kit and the V2 Nash Flash and you have a "winner"
I like the naked side look looks long and stretched shows off the wheelbase if true performance is what you are looking for and want to lead the pack that combo so far is unbeatable . If you do like the 4-1 look and performance Randi's cycle shack system is a bargain and makes power equal to the Akra Ti system and their are some neat Kerker can options and we all know how they sound . Rudy loves his set up . As far as the 240 you lose some ponies on the dyno but at the track the lower 240x40 profile and contact patch more than make up for that I would never go back to a 200 but thats just me and my 23 K on my bike it just looks toooo damn good with that fatty on the back. Ted that Devel thing on the back is growing on me looks good on your bike for sure spikes and all . |

If i'm to go with a new setup it would be tha 4-2 Dale Walker exhaust.. Good price & great performance #'s Max_Warrior wrote: Qtip wrote:
& my UFO FULL EXHAUST is a great setup & I've had ZERO issues with it.. Just don't lower it.. Sounda great too! Just listen to my video page link.. You mean besides the ceramic coating coming off, the fact that UFO has shitty customer service and the exhaust I bought for $1800 and sold to you for $300 didn't come with the megaphone I ordered? The BROCKS sounds waayyy better and Brock stands behind his products. Oh, and the UFO is not worth the trouble and a pain in the ass to put on. I'll say it loud... LOCK IT NOW! ***Edited by Moderator*** |

Thanks all for the feed back so far.
I spoke with John Cornell over at UFO, and man he is passionate about his work. I can say that he made it seem like his systems are well .......best bang for your buck. Honestly at this point it's looking pretty good for me since I keep reading that the Nash flash makes you lose low off the line speed... And top end is not necessarily what I'm looking for. With the UFO exhaust, UFO fuel management system, and air filter I am looking right around a thousand bucks.... That's a hell of a lot cheaper than any other set up and how much MORE power am I really getting if I go the other route for over twice the price??? Can anyone on the forum that actually has a UFO setup give me some feedback on their experience with it?? Thanks |

Dunno where you read that but I believe that to be furthest from the truth... In fact the flash performs the complete opposite I think you may be confusing The Flash against Big Air over MAB? |

+ 1 on that sounds like some JC propaganda , Lots of members used his Cat elim's early on but cause that was about all there was besides the pricey Akra Ti system but most replaced them as other systems became available bad fit and bad service overcame cheap price of the Hong Kong cans he provided , Some still use the 4-1 but requires removal of the swingarm and and huge labor bill if you dont spend the 6-7 hours doing it yourself. The flash makes first second and third literally come alive by opening the throttlebodies to perform and eliminate the bog JMHO

Tim's flash removes a well known bog that comes into play right when you're coming off the line. You can keep it around $1,000 with a re-flash and a mid pipe. I bought a new/used Akro for $575. |

I had the Thundermax 4-2-1 slip ons and now have the Brocks 4-2-1 14" MEGs and I am glad I changed up.
The Thundermax were too raspy and load (had to take hearing medication after long hauls. The short megs are a deeper sound and my hearing is in tact. I don't have 1:1 dyno numbers but the Brocks performance feels better. If you want a set of used THUNDERMAX pipes.....they go for $900 new on his site....I'll sell you mine for $400.... you'll just need a new coat of paint, some ear plugs and a parking place when you arrive (the Brock's will already be there) ---PeaDawg BTW.....there's nothing like the smell of good FLASH in the morning... |

The bike has a factory BOG and u will NOT get ride of it any other way but falshing the ECU..
I went to the track yesterday and i have a UFO Battlestar FULL SYSTEM from another member on this site and he just about gave it to me..Other wise i NEVER would have bought it my self @ $1800.. YOu will Bog off the line no matter what..It's set in the bike and your only going to get ride of it one way and i think you know that by now..FLASH..Doesn't have to be by Tim, but it has to be done by someone.. Good luck to ya.. Go with Dale Walker setup..Man runs 9.0 in a 1/4miles with no spray..Noff said! |
