TOPIC: Tire repair for small puncture ?

Re: Tire repair for small puncture ? 1 year 2 months ago #31

Update !

After reading your argumentations, here on the board and over the internet, I decided to change that tire...damm it...only 2834 kilos. I was driving carefully not to eat it up too fast. My plug seemed to old on.

I have some more questions. The dealer ordered a Dunlop Elite tire. Is that one better than the BT 028 ?

What are the chances that they fuck up the installation, I mean that they mare the rim or other things. I'm pretty anal about having someone else work on the bike. Am I alone with this fear ?

If I'd have the tool I would do it myself.

Thanks

Mush, very good decision. Your safety is all important.

The only way to make sure they don't marr your rim is being present when the tire gets changed.
Ask the dealer how many times wheels are marred while changing tires. Threaten to sue them for the damages or something. At least make very very clear you won't stand for even a small nick on the rim!
Next you have to make sure that the balancing of the bike doesn't damage your rim as well. Taking off the old weights & putting on new ones can damage your rim just as badly!!!!

Good luck. And if this dealer really turns out to be an ace, f.i. careful with your rims, attention to detail, etc. etc., never go to another one just for the sake of saving a few bucks!

I hope this advice will get you the desired result.
