TOPIC: Textile riding jacket....suggestions and opinions

Textile riding jacket....suggestions and opinions 1 year 2 months ago #1

I'm starting to research for a textile riding jacket.

I have some criterias that I need:

All black
Elbow protection, if there is other padding somewhere it must be removable because I always ride with a Packsack on my back.
Well ventilated, will be used for summer days primarely.

I tought of the Joe Rocket Ballistic 11.0 but I am not sure if a 3/4 lenght is what I need.

Do you have some suggestions for the same king of jacket but a little bit shorther at the waist.

Thanks

MUSH

I have a been using the Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket for the last 3 summers. Started with the 4.0 and now have the 5.0. Great airflow, well put together, and wont break the bank. Only reason that I have the 5.0 is that the other one got covered in red coolaid.... gotta love unsupervised kids :arghhh:

Have tried a few others when I was looking for the second one, but they all felt like a windbreaker compared to the phoenix.

...so there is my two cents

I'm with Ragz on this one. I've had the Joe Rocket Pheonix 4 for a couple years now and it has been great! Flows air awesome, has great padding for crash protection, and comes with a removable rain liner, should the need arise for one. I don't ride without it, it is really comfortable.

You can run, but you'll only die tired.

I've got a few Olympia textile jackets, but the models have been discontinued. Most similar appear to be the Airglide 3, but they have other short textiles. One thing I like about the ones I have is that they have a zip-out liner that makes a great stand-alone windbreaker (armor is in the outer shell).
