TOPIC: PowerShifter feedback

PowerShifter feedback 1 year 2 months ago #1

I'm about ready to install my Evoluzione powershifter..........so how has it been working so far for the folks who installed it?

I have the PCV already from awhile back......do I need to download any additional updates for the closed/open switch scenario?

Any issues?

Ken

Works great on the street and the strip... Just not in the 1st to 2nd gear shift... At least I cannot trust it. If you are spinning it wont work, I have played with all sorts of settings as well. I have mine setup to have gear dependant shift times, set as follows: 1st to 2nd 75ms, 2nd to 3rd 70ms, 3rd through 5th 65ms.
My bike shifts super smooth but with the standard 65ms like most poeple use, I was just not satisfied with the nothcy shifting like I have felt on other bikes...
I use mine on the street just normal riding as well a good bit.
Oh... I have my shift "allow" rpm set at 4500, the only issue with this is that is you manually shift (using clutch) it pops at times...

Ken, It IS AWESOME!!! DID not work out well for me at the drags though: :arghhh: The most critical gear shift (1-2), and it fails, DO TO TIRE SLIPPAGE! :arghhh:

HOWEVer...If "street" pavement is hot and BLACK...and you have great traction...you will feel your arms want to HoLd thE F on when you launch if it hooks up. I can't belive I couldn't hook up at the drags, but it was NOT very hot. :blahblahbla

I have not yet played with any kill time settings. . I had to deselct the default "switch" postion that was on the latest version. (back about two months.

I have mine set @ 65MS in all gears and active at 6500rpm's. Once I got use to it I never miss a shift. When I first got it and used it at the strip, it was hit and miss. Now, as long as I'm not spinning (you shouldn't be at the strip) it shifts smooth and quick. I don't use it on the street unless I've got the throttle pinned back.

Tried mine out yesterday with the PCV factory settings for kill time the same in all gears. I had the same 1-2 issue only hitting that shift 1/2 the time. Probably tire slippage as talked about above but also my first ride on the bike. I was just happy it worked and it is a rush when you make each shift, hold on! I need a rear wheel stand so i can set up the individual gear settings as i did hook up the speed sensor wire, will probably set it up like Brett has his once i can map the individual gears.
Make sure you download the latest software from dynojet's web page so you have all your options on your pc, also there is a firmware update for the PCV itself, here is the sticky you want to read first. www.starvmax.com/forum/installed-mods/15...mander-v-information
