Finishing everything up. 1 year 1 month ago #1

Ok Pipe, Flash, Battery, and AIS Plugs (only 3 plugs on the big air setup?) Installed. I zeroed out the Power Commander but just have to go into the Maintenace Mode and clear all or any error codes (I thought I read that somewhere)and test for leaks.
Now just to turn the key over. I noticed no error codes so does that mean I'm good? Also I only started it up for 10 sec max, and the pipe seemed to heat up fast (10 secs fast) of course there's some I would assume from the copper sealant and the left over WD40, and the fact that its a brand new pipe. (was getting a little smoke when running and during shutdown). Am I good? Cant want to take it out hopefully Wednesday to test everything. |

If you go in to the diagnostic mode and pull up D:61 you may have a code 50 after your flash, if so go to D:62 and rocker your run/stop switch until it clears then you should be good to go.
Oh, you also want to make sure your PCV has the digital ground mod done if it wasn't done already. |

The digital ground mod was not done. Do you know the thread that talks about it? I thought I saved that thread along with how the one that Tim talks about going into diagnostic mode, but cant find that one either.

Ok got it. Off to radio shack (between tomorrow and Wednesday) Question. DO I really need to do this mod if I zeroed out my map and am just using the PCV for the quick shifter? I can't recall having a ground issue to date. Just wondering

To get in diagnostic hold both bottons down and then turn on they ignition, after a few seconds it will say diag. Release the buttons then push both again for a few seconds then you will see it go in to diag mode with d:01 displayed then just scroll threw with the right button until you find d:61. If there is a code you will see it there, probably 50. Scroll to d:62 then rocker the switch to clear it then turn off ignition and your done.
As far as the PCV, I would say take the time and do the digi ground but I can't really say if it will effect anything with a zero map? Also you might not need any resistors if you preform the mod, my D:01 & D:13 did not change after the PCV install so i just shelved the resistors Tim sent me if they were needed. |

Okay I went into the DIAG mode and found no error codes in D01. It read 00. Now let me make sure I have this right. I will use a posi tap to tap the Blk/Brn wire on the ECU then run a wire to connect it to the Blk/Wht wire of the ECU ground wire that I will cut and seperate from the BLK wire. Everything else stays the same. Leaving the Blk on the PCV grounded and "NOT TO CUT THE BLK?BRN ECU WIRE!!!!"
What gauge wire did you all use to do this Mod? 14gauge, 18, does not matter? oh back to the pipe. I should expect smoke, smell, and the brocks pipe to get seriously hot fast correct? Not use to feeling a pipe get so hot that quickly. |

Dont have any fingerprints on a new exhaust. They'll. Burn in tooo. Mike d |
