TOPIC: Flashing ABS after strong launch
Flashing ABS after strong launch 1 year 1 month ago #1

I stopped on a really long straight road out riding with buddies. I wanted to see how my launch was. I usually am rolling at 5 or 10 before i wack the throttle. I counted myself down 3-2-1 I kept it around 4-5 and hit it hard. The rear spun left right left right for about 20-30 feet. Went through 3 gears running about 100. I start slowing down and see my ABS light was flashing all the way to a stop. I really was worried i broke something. I stopped turned it off. Waited 5 sec and turned it back on and totally clear. Cranked back up and kept riding pretty hard for about another 40 miles. But haven't seen it since. Rode it hard the last couple days and still in the clear. Just curious what it could've been.

Follow the instructions in your Owner's Manual under "Operation and Important Riding Points" and see if the light stays off.
Pay particular attention to the "To start out and accelerate" and "Recommended shift points". |

Could have been the rear tire screaming at a different speed than the front ABS will always trigger when doing a standing burn out!

May be something with the new line install.. I'm sure it's the Hard breaking after the hard launch with tire spin..If it's not doing anything to the rideabilty of the bike, i wouldn't worry abut it..Just keep an eye on it..

Do you have a integrated tail light, if so that is most likely the problem!

Off topic for a sec...I know my abs is physically working properly because I can feel it and hear it (and love it), however, the abs dashlight does NOT come on. This is normal right? ABS light comes ON in my truck if they're activated though...

This is totally normal when your front tire get airbourne ( From a wheelie ) ABS flashes and it wont shut off unless you totally shut the bike off and on again
after you wheelie your vmax for a while and look at the ABS light on here is a link , sorry for the bad quality Notice the ABS light gets on |
