questions about my new max 1 year 2 weeks ago #1

I put about 100 miles on it and....stupid click clacking intermitently comeing from front end somewhere?? ( minimal )surgeing in 2nd or 3rd gear somewhere between 2,800-3,000 rpms. also spins over a bit excessivly befor starting ( sometimes ) Ive read a few posts claiming same type of stuff, what gives?
It runs good, Idles good, has good throttle responce and goes like a raped ape, I mean this thing pulls fricking hard exspecially 1st thru 3rd.

They all start like that the higher amp batteries and hotter coils help but thats a max trait

the surging will go away with a Nash flashed ECU , i front part have no clue

do you have a grin on your face ? if Yes all that other stuff dont mean much just ride and get used to it.

Stopped with the clutch in she makes some noises too let the clutch out they go away thats the pissed off spirit

in every 1700 cc engine.

Not sure about the noise in the front. The starting, they all do it. Just keep your finger on the starter button until she fires up. The surging is most likely a minor lean condition if it happens at partial throttle. Like Bob says the flash will eliminate it or re-mapping if you have a Power Commander. I have some maps you could try if you have a PCV....if the bike has the fuel controller sold by the company that sells your pipes.....well....you need something else.

It has ufo pipes, ( twin star I think ) K&N filter and a max tuner wich I know nothing about at all. have to do some research on it. heres pic of exhaust.

Take the Max Tuner off and throw it away ( I used to have one, works best laying on the bench!). As a fuel tuner it's a joke. That will most likely help or even stop the surging. You'll have to be more precise about the clicking, but it could be the ABS brakes (normal). The V4 is very mechanical and a lot of different noises can be heard from the engine. The compression release is the main reason that the V4 doesn't start immediately. A good hot battery will help, but it is the nature of the beast. Relax, get used to the beast. It's a unique design, powerful & almost bullet proof :)

Has the oil pump recall been done yet?

I have no manual and cant get the cover over air box off..lol..i removed bolts on the sides in the back and the two front ones, i dont want to break the dang thing.

two in the front, two on the from the side, then it's the one Bolt to slide the top Cover of, then there are two silver and two black underneth the top Cover

I figured it out but thanx anyways, now im decideing wether or not to rmove max tuner. or at least shut it off to see if surgeing goes away.
