Life is.... wierd 1 year 3 weeks ago #1

As many of you know, I got a great job last summer doing power line work in California. Lasted for 6 months, and when the job was done, I was going to move to the East Coast to continue working for that company. For whatever reason, the job out there did not pan out. At one point this winter, I was fortunate enough to take a short trip to visit my friends in Florida, where I spent some time trying to find work. I had what I though was a solid lead, and then never heard back from my contact. So, I headed back to Washington, and picked up a job at a local Harley/Suzuki/Kawasaki/Yamaha dealer, and was doing quite well when I got a call from the company I worked for in California. "We just had a position open up, how soon can you be here for an interview?", so I hopped a plane and jetted to New Hampshire to chat with these folks. Well, they asked me to stay an extra week to try me out on some projects, and then asked me to stay another week to do more projects. They finally asked when I was going to move out to be there permenently, and I told them, as soon as you let me head home to get my life loaded in a truck and drive out here. So, I flew back to Washington Saturday, and I am loading a U-Haul today to start driving out to Dover, NH. Already leased a house out there (3 bedroom, in case anyone wants to come for a visit), so will be loading everything I own into that truck in about an hour, and then heading East. I will try to update as I head across the country, should be out there by Friday. This is a big deal, as I am leaving everything and everyone I know, back here in Washington. For the first time, as I write this, the reality of it all is setting in, and I am feeling a bit anxious about it all. It is all for the best though, so I am excited!

Wish me luck, and I will update as I find time.

Good Luck! I lived in Dover for 5 years, another 4 when I was stationed at Pease AFB, in Portsmouth (over the bridge) Anyway. I'm sure you are going to run into a lot of my friends
there, especially when they see your bike. I may come up for a visit in a few months.

I think you will like it. No sales tax, no income tax, since your renting, no property tax (thats where they really stick it to you).
All the lobster you can eat. (I have a hook up for that also *wink)

Your a good hour south of Portland ME, and hour north of Boston. 4 from NY city!

Watch out for Stephen King...and all those people that say WICKED and FAAAther and CAAAA (car)

PM me if you have any questions about the area.

Life most certainly is... weird!! I have one of those "weird/life took me here" stories, too. SO thankful that it happened, even though at the time, I was apprehensive as hell.

Best of luck to you, fellow Max'er! Take it a day at a time and enjoy the ride! We only live once, and the Good Lord will never throw anything at you that you can't handle!!!

Keep us posted!!!
