When I bought mine I learned that Yamaha was having trouble sourcing someone to build the CF parts. They were being made in Thailand, but they had the floods. Apparently Thailand wasn't the first location Yamaha used.	okbrown OFFLINE Gold Max Posts: 1602 Thank you received: 867

I wasn't aware that the fender Exactrep offers is the factory OEM piece. I just went on-line and ordered it. Actually, I called and spoke to reps at each of those sites. As well as many, many other sites since February. Trouble is, the majority do not update their website's with the latest availability, show they show the fender "on-sale", when, in fact, they can't even get it. I had Yamaha run a nationwide search to no avail. The factory rep told me that they were discontinued - not backordered - due to cost and low demand. Understandable considering it's a low-volume motorcycle in the first place. IF there is one in inventory somewhere, then I haven't found it. I'll be looking forward to my package from across the pond though. Will post pics once I have it all together...

Alright I'm apologizing right away for that post......you see for those who don't know my Devils just beat Neal's Flyers in overtime.

But making fun of the loss of CF parts and the playoff game is stooping too low......even for me.

Seriously though this CF thing is a nightmare for everyone who has those beautiful body peices. What happens god forbid a part gets damaged?

Hey Bill, It's your lucky day, man. I still have my rear CF fender in the box as well as the side covers (never offered here- bought in Europe) and the tank cover. All in the box and brand new. I sold my bike last year and now have a Super Tenere. I was about to throw them up on Ebay. Let me know if you are interested and provide an email addy where I can send pics.
