Was considering getting a radar detector for the Beast and was wondering if any of you had experience or suggestions as to what type?

I use the adaptive radar detector and love it. It designed for motorcycles. Water resistent.

I keep on going back and forth on this one, so I hope others chime in. Never had a detector, but I'm of the impression (perhaps wrongly) that once you pick up a signal on a radar detector, you're history, as they just have to get "close" because of the breadth of the signal. "Maybe" the systems that update radar locations based on the community of users could be useful as a pre-emptive measure, just not sure about that. Laser, OTOH, they've got to hit you.....specifically.....just right to get the bounce they need to get you......relatively unlikely (vs. a truck, e.g.) if you're on a bike....so that makes a laser jammer/diffuser not really worth the cost. While I'm saving a few coins for such a system in my truck, having a hard time justifying the cost for a bike.....but I could be convinced otherwise.
