Also the 2012 had blue antifreeze in it. Yamaha only list one part # for their antifreeze and it is green. Also the new YZ85's are coming with blue antifreeze. Any thoughts on this? |

Windex to Clean (ammonia ok) "S 100" makes a propritary spray really meant for the HD Denim paint "matte"
After looking on some of the HD forums the one that made the best sense Blue Coral car wash and turtle wax spray finish. Poke around on the HD sites they have had matte black for many years and those guys know how to clean their bikes Maybe they stepped up to the plate and put engine ice in it thats a nice Cobalt blue and works great |

S-100 engine dressing on my 03' Flat black Vmax worked great on the whole bike.
I'd mist it on the fenders & faux tank then wipe excess off with a micro cloth. I'd do the motor, frame & other bits too. Didn't attract as much dust & dirt like armor all. Just give it a light coat. It seemed to hold up the luster for quite a while. Another option would be to try lemon pledge. |

I was at Southbay MotorSports this morning to check on some parts and the Yamaha Factory Demo Truck was there as scheduled for 15-16 May... The Yamaha Factory guys looked over my totally modified 2010 and I looked over and touched their 2012 Matte Black V-Max and was thinking the same thing...how in the world would you clean much less wax that paint job???...I mean, it is smooth so I guess it would take wax just like any other paint job but I would want someone else to try it first and let me know how it went before I would even think about attempting it on my own... Personally, I don't care for the color of the 2012 but I guess it's like the "Slow Red" 2010...it COULD grow on you...lol... Art BTW...everyone wanted to know why I didn't take the 2012 out for a demo spin and I said, "I wouldn't have any fun with a slow, low HP/Torque machine!!!"... |

Well for one I have a 2012 and honestly I hate the color. Some may like it but I don't. Will be changing it this fall. I'm thinkin Corvette Yellow, haven't seen that color or camaro green, but favorite is corvette ZO6 Red, which is faster than the other 2 LOL.
I just wash it and go. |
