I think when I last talked 2 ya, he didn't budge.
Apparently he found something & called back ready to deal.
Went back n forth, & we met in betweens.
Inspection Tuesday. Then the banks gotta approve.
Hoping 4 smooth sailing. It's not ours just yet.

Hope you get it Joe you gotta be tired of looking.

Question why do they call it a Tourmaster engine sounds far from a touring power plant ?
I have no idea why they call it a tourmaster. The guy said it was pushing around 165 ho to the wheel.

I've rode a few 1500 Tourmaster PCW bikes that my ol' Vmax friends have had.
Hp ranged from I'm guessing 160-180 depending on mods.
Bikes will eat a lot more gas after the rebuild. The bikes I rode made my stock gen 1 feel slow.

One thing to be aware of is that even though they rebuild the motor & punch it out, I've always seen the Tourmaster motors leak oil. Take apart a Vmax motor & all the engine covers, engine cases to block, & oil pan need to be scraped of the old gasket materials very well. It takes like a day. I've done it. These guys that rebuild your motor won't take that time to button it up with utmost care. That last stage which is time consuming , gets slapped together & they leak. Getting it scraped, scuffed, degreased, new gaskets with the right amount of permatex sealant takes hours. I used black Suzuki bond which worked best.

Have no idea why it's called Tourmaster. Making a pass on the freeway on a Tourmaster motor seemed smoother, faster, less effort. Pulls hard.

+1 on what Joe said. You also have to look out for overheating issues I've seen that on several. Some have had mechanical problems, but I've also seen a few go well over 50K miles with no problems what-so-ever.

I came very close to building one myself up until Yamaha finally came out with the Gen 2.

Hopefully you got one of the real good ones.

I got one knowing it needed some work but for what I paid for the bike I am not complaining.I will probably have to spend about a grand getting the engine right with me doing the work. I also got the dynamags I have been wanting & enought stuff to sell that it wont end up costing me much at all.

Cool I knew they were back open but did not know they changed them things. Now I just need to get the engine fixed but have other things I need to do first like get this building built out back so I can get all the parts out of the garage.

My new neighbor was just telling me about the new owner at the track.
To run it's supposed to be twice expensive.
30 bucks for 4 passes!
Not sure if that's fact.

I will try & find out tomorrow. I am not a big fan of the 1/8 mile any way and you dont get thay many runs in there so if its up to $ 30 they wont be seeing me much.
