Well thanks for the cad file Tim. I was just hoping to buy a MBA all ready done instead of taking the time to machine them. Plus I work for GE Energy now which is a union shop and boy do they frown on doing goverment work there. I would have to have a buddy where I used to work make them for me which it looks like I may end up doing that unless somebody tells me to hold out for something better????
Thanks agian. Kevin |

my take on it was the it doesn't make the topend HP..(could be wrong) but like what was said, u get back some of that mid range power.. FYI- I may be putting my MONSTER BigAir up 4sale soon..Want to go back to stock..I don't think i'll ever see high 9's with my weight and riddin' skills..So, i don't think i'll need it anymore.. So, any one that want's one, keep ur eye's pilled 4 it.. It may go up soon!!! Dont sell yourself short ted you just have not had that run when the stars align just right you have not had enough runs either you get that take off down and with your 4-1 Big air Flash set up you will get there maybe lay off the Fried Chicken a little too. My thoughts on mid range power as follows on the dyno chart it does show a dip and like 4500-6000 I believe more pronounced on unflashed bikes the Brock pipe seems to help with that as well and i am sure your 4-1 does as well but have heard tales of you whooping up on them Texas boys with more mods than you have bet you would miss that Xtra air you get with the MBA with the type of riding you do I thinks the guys that ride the twisties alot might care a bit more but I have never felt a dip or like low spot in my power band even when i had duals but i am just saying it's good for me and you trying to get the best possible 1/4 mile it's an asset I am 215 Ted suited up no lightweight for the longest time I ran 10.20.s or so but one night it clicked and it figured it out obviously the combination of mods helps a lot but you gotta be able to get the power to the pavement and that takes practice I dont know why Ted but what made the biggest difference is using the lights more to my advantage it was more like i was racing the tree instead of the bike in the other lane once i had that confidence my 60's got better i was whopping ass on other bikes and finally felt comfortable there is so much to remember at the line and everything happens so damn fast trying to clutch / throttle keep the weight forward and watch the lights is a lot to digest if you are not comfortable once i started relaxing a bit and did not mind screw myself it got better BTW if you wait for the green you wont win. |

This has pretty much been beaten to death over the years... but I'll put my 2 cents in anyway.
If you are looking for maximum peak HP then Monster Air the way to go. If you'd rather have maximum available power throughout the entire power band then you should stay with the stock air box. It's that simple. Dragstrip....Monster Air tuned correctly should win every time, all things being equal. If you were on a track like the video that VmaxBeast posted, the stock air-box would have the upper hand. So it all depends on what you are looking for. |

Well thanks everyone for your input. I do more riding on the street than at the strip so maybe I will just do the Holeshot mod to the airbox and do the Nash Flash with the PC5 and the Brock's. I want the PC so I can add a Quick Shifter after I get the exhaust on. I would still like a MBA kit if someone has one. Not sure if it is worth me making one now.
Thanks again. Kevin |
