There's an airspring shock kit available for it, but on a Vmax it's not really recommended. Your 240 tire will drop you near an inch from stock, and maybe dropping the front shocks a bit would suffice? You can also get a lower profile seat..

Thanks No_Max, I already have the front dropped 1in and I have had my seat cut down about a 1 1/2, I have a 2in lowering link here but I hate to drop it if it will rub with the warden on. I know they have air shocks I just hate to pay $900 bucks for the system although that is really what I need. A friend of mine that I went riding with today had a warrior and he had lowered his and had put a heavyer coil spring on his warrior. It was rated rated for 1000lbs. He said it was stiffer that stock. I was just wondering if it would help. Keep the shock and replace the spring with the heavyer one. Thanks Dannie (LumMax)

Thanks itgoes, I really didn't want to hear that. I love the look of the 2in drop but I also don't want it to rub. I really wish there was a way to solve this problem. Well to be honest there is (air ride). LOL. Well I guess I will have to start saving for the air ride. Were is the best place to get one. Thanks Dannie (LumMax)

Do you need to shorten the kickstand with the 1" drop?

Not that it's cHeap, but I did the ygear lowering kit. Shock with progressive rear spring, new progressive front springs and new kick stand. Ride is great dropped me an inch. Handles well too. Will work with the 240rear also. Made by Yamaha.

THanks Dannie (LumMax) Sorry missed this posting I am dropped one inch and the Cobra is the Avon 240x40 18 good all purpose tire yields 10 K or so with Mayhem and drag racing ect not as sticky as some but way outlasts most never been able to push it past comfort zone. The 240 changes your gear ratio a bit as the stock is a 200x50x18 so shorter tire shorter gear better in 1/4 I have never rubbed the Avon as have with others. |
