TOPIC: 300 HP Twin Turbo Gen 2

Re: 300 HP Twin Turbo Gen 2 11 months 6 days ago #11

It's not 300.. It is 278hp tho, and I have the original video link from over 2 years ago saved in Bad_Max profile. It was cool when I first saw it, and props to the guy for well thought out design & plumbing, but my opinion, turbo charger isn't the way to go. They are better for topspeed but superchargers are better for acceleration. A turbo has to build boost, while a belt driven supercharger has power right away. Turbo chargers are less reliable and break easy, not to mention the nightmare of plumbing and leg heat. Superchargers are small & reliable and always work, plus there's no ugly plumbing & less heat on the rider. All it needs is a lot of good clean air.

There's a slick Supercharger setup in the works for the Gen2 with 2 belts & some pulleys that's not real visible. Pretty small & inconspicuous and you'll be able to dial the boost you want, but that's a little ways off yet. I'll let him tell about it when he's ready.. It's gonna be SLICK tho, most likely a bolt on kit w/matching flash ;)

The Whipple is too big and difficult to mount. There's a newer, smaller one that's perfect for the space above the engine, SLICK ;)

Ugly and imagine how much weight got added considering the turbos, plumbing, and intercooler. 70 pounds? Not for me.
